AutoZone Liberty Bowl

Format and selection

Conference bowl agreements

One postseason game.

1. The Big 12’s bowl agreements allocate teams after the CFP, in the conference’s published bowl selection process.
2. Alamo, Pop-Tarts, Texas, Liberty, Cactus and Independence are listed in the continuing Big 12 pool. The former Pac-12 members have a separate bowl arrangement.
3. The partner list identifies eligible selection pools; it does not establish why a particular team will be chosen.

These are documented selection procedures. They do not explain why a particular participant was chosen unless the source expressly records that decision.

History

The NCAA records trace this competition to the 1959 football season.

The records identify Memphis, TN as its present site. Individual editions retain documented name changes and results.
