Format and selection

NCAA College Division regional bowls

One postseason game.

1. The NCAA organized regional postseason games for College Division institutions before a national Division II playoff existed.
2. The championship records identify the regional participants and results; detailed season-specific invitation criteria are not documented in the consulted records.

These are documented selection procedures. They do not explain why a particular participant was chosen unless the source expressly records that decision.

History

The NCAA records trace this competition to the 1946 football season.

The records identify Orlando, FL as its present site. Individual editions retain documented name changes and results.
